Acute hospital sites are under pressure and there is a need to reduce that by looking at other ways to provide services in alternative suitable locations.
As part of the drive to tackle this, Bransholme Health Centre has been mandated by NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) as a base to deliver urgent care services.
This means converting rooms within the building to house new X-ray diagnostic facilities.
Bransholme Health Centre already provides minor injuries, GP and community services. But an X-ray facility has been identified as the next priority in order to facilitate more advanced care within the base.
We are working with head tenant Community Health Partnerships (CHP) and City Health Care Partnership (CHCP), which delivers the service.
To create this new facility, we will convert rooms to accommodate the X-ray equipment and necessary environment required for such a service.
Once completed, this will enable patients to attend the health centre for X-rays, helping to reduce pressure on Hull's accident and emergency and diagnostic departments.
This will be the first urgent care facility in the city.
